Fellows Consulting Services
Leadership Asheville provides Fellows with the opportunity to actively give back to the community while offering nonprofit and community organizations the skills and expertise of the Fellows pro bono. The emphasis is on advice and support.
Fellows all have work, family and community commitments; therefore the purpose of their voluntary contribution to an organization is to support and strengthen the capacities of its staff or members, rather than to undertake significant hands-on work themselves. Ideally, Fellows will work on an immediate problem within the organization; but in the process, transfers skills, knowledge and contacts from Fellows to the organization.
Some examples follow of the type of work Fellows can provide:
- Guidance with organizational development issues and strategic reviews
- Advice on image, marketing and sponsorship
- Brainstorming sessions to help clarify plans or projects
- Guest speakers
- Advice and support for “one-off” events
Leadership Asheville gives preference to requests for assistance which:
- Add tangible value to an organization and to the community
- Require Fellows to give advice and support to an organization’s staff or members
- Offer opportunities for the continuing learning and leadership development of Leadership Asheville Fellows
In order for us to understand the nature of your organization and exactly what assistance you require, it is important that you give us as much information as possible by completing all questions on the Fellows Consulting Services application as fully as possible and providing any additional background information that may help us understand your organization (e.g., annual report, brochures on activities, evaluation documents). Some of the questions may not be appropriate for your particular request; if so, simply complete as much as possible and type “n/a” where not applicable.
